Scope and Contents
The Physical Plant Files series consists of the office files of Facilities Management prior to the renaming and restructuring of the department. Many of the files retain their original names but a few were relabeled for clarification. The files include daily work orders, schedules, and inter-office memos about maintenance projects, along with materials about student housing services, inventories, and budgets. Materials about the 1979 to 1981 Teamsters union organizing drive and Bowdoin’s campaign to convince housekeepers not to unionize can also be found in the series.
