The schooner Bowdoin was designed (specifically for Arctic exploration), under the direction of MacMillan, by William H. Hand. The schooner was built, in 1921, in East Boothbay, Maine at the Hodgdon Brothers Shipyard. This series contains documents, plans, correspondence, articles, reports, and ephemera concerning the building of the schooner Bowdoin, her use in World War II, her stints at Mystic Seaport and in Camden Harbor, and her restoration.
