Series Description: From the Series: The first institute to be conducted at Bowdoin College was the Institute of Modern History, April 16-28, 1923, which consisted of a series of lectures and conferences by authorities in the field of international relations. The lectures were open to the public, and were followed by conferences the day after the lecture that were open only to undergraduates.
