Biographical / Historical
William Jenks (1778-1866)was a Congregationalist pastor, a Bowdoin College Overseer, 1806-1811 and secretary of the Bowdoin College Trustees, 1818-1822. He was born in Newton, Massachusetts,and was graduated from Harvard College in 1797. Jenks was a pastor in Bath, Maine (1805-1818), and Boston, Massachusetts (1826-1845), and a member of the Maine Missionary Society.
