Biographical/Historical Note
William James "Jim" Dove, nephew of arctic explorer Robert A. Bartlett, was an engineer on Bartlett's schooner Effie M. Morrissey. The schooner, with its mostly student crew, went on arctic research expeditions from 1926-1946.
