Clippings, many undated, regarding Hanley's Bowdoin affiliation, including his undergraduate days and the award of his honorary degree in 1980. Career clippings, many undated, relate to his time as a medical officer in Formosa in 1946, his views on athletic injuries, and his induction into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame. Clippings from the 1972 summer Olympic games in Munich cover athletic events as well as the anti-Israeli hostage crisis that dominated the games. There are also scrapbooks of the 1972 summer Olympic games and one concerning the 1960 Olympics in Rome.
