Scope and Content
Correspondence between members of the Hitchcock family dated between February 1867 and April 1895. Many of the letters are addressed to and from Alfred Hitchcock at boarding school prior to his matriculation at Bowdoin College. Principle correspondents during this period are his mother and father, Clara and Edward Hitchcock, and his cousin, Arthur Read of Boston. In a few of the later letters Hitchcock describes life at Bowdoin College and his time as a physician.
