Subseries Description:

Containing letters, campaign records, clippings, and case records, these files concern political issues, especially the 1932 senatorial race against John G. Utterback, which was settled in Utterback's favor in 1933. There are also references to life in Dexter and to Brewster's law practice. Several files concern issues carried over from his gubernatorial term, including temperance, water power and fisheries, and therefore contain items from as early as 1926.
