Pierce travelled by ship from New York City to Portsmouth, England, and then toured around England, Scotland, Wales, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and France, visiting many locales on foot. Includes loose notes and an index of places visited, modes of transportation, and distances travelled.
