Scope and Content:

This series primarily consists of correspondence between Rowland Bailey Howard and his family. Some small number of letters between family members of the preceding generation are also included. About half of the letters were written by Howard. Non-family correspondents include Andrew Carnegie, George Frisbie Hoar, John Brown Russwurm and Theodore Dwight Woolsey.

More Howard family correspondence can be found in the collections of Rowland Bailey Howard's brothers: Charles Henry Howard and Oliver Otis Howard.
