This series contains files created from 1981 through 1991 and contains grant award notifications, a comprehensive Congressional notification report and other reports, grant applications and proposals, and background files on projects and organizations. The files track the various applications but mostly track records of awards to a variety of groups - arts and educational institutions, social service and health agencies, and other groups and projects. Most grants occurred in the Portland area, but some are documented for other Maine cities such as Bethel, Brunswick, and Bangor.
