Description:
Records in this series were created from 1980-1994. Material types include memos, case logs, resolutions requested by constituents, press clippings, press releases, resumes from potential legislative assistants, and requests for information on legislation. Most of the material pertains to requests made by people for information or help regarding potential legislation or legislation already in progress. Cases deal with a variety of issues including, most frequently, health and housing insurance, fuel and energy concerns, veterans' affairs, and farming. Legislation mentioned specifically includes the Fair Insurance Information Practices Act, S.3048 - Federal Anti-Tempering Act, and S.2784 - Major League Community Protection Act.
Though many constituents are mentioned, some of the major ones include the Paralyzed Vets of America, the National Association of Legal Secretaries, Housing and Urban Affairs, the American Judicature Society, Veterans' Administration, and Parents Anonymous of Maine. The main staffer involved in this series is Jeff Nathanson, with David Ray, Tom Bertucci, and Ed Scott also contributing material.
