This series contains national and state newspaper clippings from 1980 through 1981 and from 1984 through 1986. They are arranged first by year, then arranged by subject within the year. Subjects range from other legislators, particularly the Maine delegation, to ongoing issues such as the environment, education, defense, foreign relations and the budget, to local industries and companies such as the shoe industry and Bath Iron Works. Subjects in later years are covered in the Chronological Press Clippings series, which are indexed.
