Scope and Contents

Administrative staff composed detailed itineraries of events and meetings Mitchell attended outside of the Senate, often including relevant contact names and phone numbers. When Senator Mitchell was elected majority leader in 1988, demands for his time became even more pressing. Consequently, every effort was made to arrange the itinerary efficiently and to predict where Senator Mitchell would be at any given moment. These itineraries cover events from January 1986 to December 1993. Many of the events and meetings occurred in Maine.
