This series contains the twenty-five monographs published by the Bureau for Research in Municipal Government between 1915 and 1964 on various aspects of state and local government in Maine. The monographs comprise the Bureau's Municipal Research Series, many of which are also issues of the Bowdoin College Bulletin.

Campus Center [Smith Union] Planning Committee: records
The collection documents the planning and construction of the David Saul Smith Union at Bowdoin College. Material includes subject files of Mark Wethli, the committee Chair, architectural plans and drawings of proposed and actual construction, and samples of materials, finishes and furnishings for the building. In addition, there is a series of minutes of meetings with the building contractors from the construction phase of the project.

This collection contains records of the Capital Campaign of Bowdoin College. Files contain general information on the campaign, including correspondence regarding plans, progress and committee activities. Files also include summary information of campaign activities, including official reports and appeal and progress brochures.

The bulk of this collection comprises personal and professional correspondence, ships' documents, an account book pertaining to several ships including the Margaret and the Hannibal, as well as miscellaneous writings, receipts, and deeds and documents concerning the Purington estate.
Career Planning Center: records and publications
The bulk of the material is publications produced by the Office of Career Services. Most significant is the collection of the Bulletin, a bi-weekly (originally weekly) publication that identifies employment opportunities and gives notices of on-campus recruiting, and information about graduate study. Although the office has existed since 1944, there are no records prior to 1962.
