Four of the notebooks concern religious topics, such as theology, Congregationalism, missions, apologetics, and exegesis. The fifth notebook contains notes on geometry and history. Catalogues from Hyde's college preparatory years at Phillips Exeter Academy are included as is his diploma from the Theological Seminary in Andover.
