Content Description

Research materials related to the production of Pamela Zabala's (Bowdoin College, Class of 2017) Honors project in Sociology, "Cooperate with Others for Common Ends?: Students as Gatekeepers of Culture and Tradition on College Campuses." This thesis considers topics of race and bias and draws on archival, ethnographic, and interview data collected at Bowdoin College to examine the relationship between students and between students and administrators. Materials include honors proposal drafts, a seed paper with early notes, interview guides, interview transcripts, Yik Yak posts (printouts and image files), a spreadsheet documenting related Bowdoin Orient articles (printed/annotated and electronic), a report from the Archives, "Ad-Hoc Committee on Racial Relations", 1984 with annotations, and project notepads.
