Biographical/Historical Note
The Education Department actively practices three tenets in their curriculum: Be aware of the big picture, Embrace theory and practice, and Model and live in the spirit of inquiry. The department encourages the integration of the common good into the teachings of the history of schooling, educational theories, and pedagogical approaches to work with the dilemmas teachers face in the present educational system. Field experiences in local classrooms are part of the courses offered at the college allowing students to experience educational foundations, and hands on teaching and learning.
