Biographical / Historical

Lorenzo Horn was born in 1880 near Kulmbach, Germany. He was Sergeant and Cavalryman of the Landespolizei of German South-West Africa from ca. 1902-1915; in 1915 Horn was interned after the surrender of the Gibeon Security Guard during World War 1. After the war he lived in Germany with his wife and family. He died in 1956 in Simmelsdorf, Huttenbach, Germany.

Includes ca. 153 photos (four loose) depicting ship's crossing to SWA on the Admiral (Woermann Line), indigenous people, geographic locales (possibly around Gelwater Police Station, Gibeon, where Horn was stationed) and building interiors.
