Biographical/Historical Note

In 1984 approximately twenty women administrators met for the first time in order to get to know their peers and discuss topics of interest. This group was known as Women Employees Brown Bag (WEBB). Many of the concerns of the Women Employees Brown Bag group however, were not specific to women. In 1986 therefore, the Bowdoin Administrative Staff (BAS) group evolved from the Women Employees Brown Bag group and began to address management issues of general interest to the entire administrative staff.
