Scope and Content
The collection consists of correspondence between the members of the Warren family from the period 1888-1938. Chief among these are several letters to Susan Warren advising her through her studies at Wellesley College, by her cousins Edward and Caroline Warren. Also included in the collection are: correspondence between Susan and her acquaintances; correspondence regarding the family's financial standing; and an authorization for the distribution of the Estate of Edward Perry Warren.

Biographical/Historical Note
Edward P. Warren (b. Waltham, MA 8 Jan. 1860; d. London, England 29 Dec. 1928) was the son of Westbrook, Maine, paper manufacturer S. D. Warren, and a graduate of Oxford University (1888 & 1911). An authority on classical archaeology, Warren collected classical art, was recipient of an honorary degree from Bowdoin in 1926, and presented more than 600 objects to Bowdoin's Museum of Art.
