Biographical/Historical Note
David C. Walker (Bowdoin 1964), a poet, was born in Damariscotta, Maine, on October 13, 1942. He married Mary McCarthy Walker (Mickey) on June 14, 1964, and they had a daughter, Emma. Walker was recipient of the 1st annual award Virginia Commonwealth University Series for Contemporary Poetry (1975), and was named Poetry Scholar at the Breadloaf Writers Conference (1972). Walker's poetry includes Fathers (1975), and Moving Out (1976). More information is available through the David C. Walker Papers.
