Biographical/Historical Note
David Walker (Bowdoin 1964), a poet, was born in Damariscotta, Maine, October 13, 1942. He married Mary McCarthy Walker on June 14, 1964, and they had a daughter, Emma. Walker received the 1st annual award of the Virginia Commonwealth University Series for Contemporary Poetry (1975), and was named Poetry Scholar at the Breadloaf Writers conference (1972). Walker was a feature writer for the Maine Sunday Telegram, and various journals, and is the author of three books of poetry, including Moving Out (1976), Holding Patterns (1980).
