Biographical/Historical Note
The Bowdoin College Children's Center was opened in the fall of 1988. It was originally housed in one building at 27 South Street and included 12 children ages 3-5. In the fall of 1990 the program was expanded into a second building at 4 South Street to incorporate infants and toddlers as well as preschool children. The program initially serviced college employees exclusively but has since expanded to provide service to children outside of the Bowdoin community when space is available.
