Scope and Contents
Three volumes of manuscript texts acquired in Turkey, possibly copied in the 19th century. Vol. [1]: Kitab Sayyid Sharif Sharh Sirajiyya, dated Rajab 1236 (April 1821) is a manual concerning fara'id (the legal division of estates and wills among family members). Vol. [2] has 2 parts: a treatise on usul al-fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), dated Muharam 1050 (April 1640); and, a work on mantiq (logic), dated Jumada al-Awwal 1175 (November 1761). Vol. [3]: a treatise on falakiyyat (astronomy), dated Dhu al-Qa'dah 1178 (April 1765) and including physics and engineering.
