Biographical/Historical Note
The Student Course and Teacher Evaluation (SCATE) committee was formed in the spring of 1967 by the President of the Student Council, Douglas P. Biklen. It was originally formed as part of the National Student Association's Project SCATE program. Evaluations were distributed and tabulated by the committee under the direction of Peter Partnow, '68. The results were then published in the SCATE handbook to provide students a uniform guide for selecting courses and instructors. The student group disbanded around 1982 because of lack of interest.
