Biographical/Historical Note
Student government advocates for the student body by engaging in issues and policy, and provides services and programming for the students. The process of choosing student government representatives, the groups directly represented, and the number of the representatives has changed throughout the years. The name of the governing body has also changed; Student Council (1908-1975), Student Assembly/Executive Board (1975-1997), Student Assembly with an Executive Committee (1997-2002), and Bowdoin Student Government or BSG (2002- ).
