Material related to the quantifiable facts of Porter's life and items of personal significance that he wished to have preserved. Included are both biographical magazine essays and more experimental appreciations of Porter's life, covering a wide range of events from Porter's arrest in Alabama to his later years in Belfast. Similar materials include a folder of directories and associations in which Porter participated, scattered documents related to his early life and career, and copies and notes for James Schevill's Porter biographies. The series also includes photographs and documents related to Porter's family history, photographic portraits of Porter himself, and photographs of Porter's home in Belfast, the Institute for Advanced Thinking. The series concludes with souvenirs and keepsakes from Porter's adventures in international cruising.
