Wood family: printed material and genealogy
Series Description:
Correspondence, financial records, and other documents, mostly from the Foote and Wood families and Moses Carleton. Foote family materials include Erastus Foote's appointments as collector of customs for the District of Wiscasset (signed by Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson), and appointments as attorney general of the State of Maine. Also included are Erastus Foote, Jr.'s compositions and diaries from his time as a Bowdoin student in the 1840s. Additional materials concern the Foote family connection with Lime Island and the Waldo Coal, Iron, Marble and Lime Mining and Manufacturing Company, Wiscasset, Maine (incorporated in 1835).
