Series Description:

Military pension and bounty land case files for Maine veterans and their dependents, administered by pension agents Arthur McArthur, Sr. and William McArthur. The bulk of the case files concern Maine veterans of the Revolutionary War (1775-1783), the War of 1812, and the Civil War (1861-1865), but records for those that served in the Seminole Wars (1st 1818, 2nd 1835-1842), the Mexican War (1846-1848), and the Aroostook "War" are also included.
