Scope and Content
Materials relating to the Fairchild family during the period 1870-1885, the bulk concerning Elizabeth Nelson Fairchild's writings. The collection includes her poetry published under the names Lily Nelson and C.A. Price and Elizabeth's writings (typescript copies) describing her impressions of Japan. In addition, there are diaries (copies) of Lucia Fairchild, Elizabeth Nelson Fairchild's daughter, that include a description of Lucia's visit to the Louvre with John Singer Sargent; newspaper clippings; photographs, including a signed photograph of Robert Louis Stephenson and accompanying letter from him; and miscellanea.
