Scope and Contents

Primarily Jacob Abbott's manuscript writings, from fictional essays, such as his popular series of "Rollo" books for boys, to sermons. Also includes private journals, estate material, biographical, genealogical material, and miscellaneous ephemera. In addition, contains a letter book to Jacob from the members of the history class at Abbott's School in New York, 1845.
