Series Description:

The programs document Bowdoin's participation in Government programs directed towards encouraging high school students to attain higher education. The years between 1954 and 1968 saw increased government support for education programs, including: Upward Bound, (ongoing at Bowdoin), National Defense Education Act, Equal Opportunities Educational Program, President's Commission on Education Beyond High School.
