Series Description:
This series contains correspondence regarding material accessioned by the Museum of Art, organized chronologically by the Museum of Art accession number. The bulk of the letters are dated from the late 1890s to the late 1930s and are written to Professor Henry Johnson (curator of the Museum of Art, 1881-1887, 1892-1914; and Director of the Museum of Art, 1914-1918), Anna Elizabeth Smith (Curator of the Art Collection, 1914-1935) and Professor Henry E. Andrews (Professor of Art and Director of the Museum of Art, 1918-1939). Letters are also addressed to Presidents Hyde and Sills; most of the correspondents are donors.
