Series Description:
Most issues of the Bowdoin Sun, or Sun, have the byline "The Free-Access Journal of Bowdoin College." According to the editorial in the inaugural October 19, 1977 issue, the Sun aimed to provide an outlet for creativity and imagination in journalistic writing, as well as a means for people to freely express their feelings and ideas. Fliers solicited photographers, writers, and artists.
