Series Description:
The Faculty Affairs Committee was established in 1972 and given responsibility for advising and informing the faculty on policies and procedures regarding governance, promotions, tenure decisions, appointments, compensation, benefits, working conditions, teaching loads, leaves and sabbaticals. Affirmative action, evaluation processes, the faculty handbook, and sexual harassment policy were matters addressed by this committee. Membership consisted of the Dean for Academic Affairs and faculty, with a representation of assistant and/or associate professors and professors. Included are agendas, articles, correspondence, memos, minutes and reports. Effective with the 2008-2009 academic year, the Committee on Governance and the Faculty Affairs Committee were replaced by the Committee on Governance and Faculty Affairs.
