Printed Materials, 1999
Scope and Contents
The Common Hour program is organized by the Office of Events & Summer Programs and takes place on Fridays during the academic year. Speakers and performers are invited from Bowdoin and the wider community. Common Hour provides an opportunity for faculty, students and staff to gather in common spaces across campus and engage together in the ideas of speakers and the presentations of art. Printed materials include flyers and promotional material advertising the Common Hour events as well as the text of some lectures printed from the Bowdoin/Sun online. Audiovisual campus recordings of lectures, performances and debates that are part of the Common Hour program are also included. Topics vary widely, including political commentary; discussion of scientific and technological issues; the work of writers, poets and journalists; philosophical ideas; the visual and performing arts; sports; business and international affairs. For access to audiovisual materials, contact Special Collections.
