Series contains files of correspondence between President Sills and members of the Committee on Degrees regarding nominees for and recipients of honorary degrees. Also contains personal documentation by Sills of honorary degree recipients (photos, letters, etc.). Box 2 contains statistical information regarding profession, education, etc. of degree recipients from 1919-1938. Additional information about honorary degrees in this period can be found in Number 290 of the College Bulletin, "Honoris Causa".
