Museum Publicity, c. 1974
Series Description:
This series contains materials assembled by Special Collections about the Museum of Art and Bowdoin's art collections. The primary contents are invitations, brochures, and flyers promoting museum exhibitions and events, as well as materials relating to the Museum Associates membership program. Most of the materials were distributed by mail to staff in Special Collections and filed chronologically.
Exceptions to this include early correspondence regarding restoration of artworks displayed in the Chapel in the 1840s and 1850s, between the restorer and President Woods. There is also correspondence with Henry Johnson, curator and director of the museum. There are some annual reports of the museum present, noted in the folder titles.
