Scope and Contents

The Compositions and Scores series (-) includes a small collection of music written by former students and Maine composers that was dedicated to Schwartz, namely at his 60th birthday, or has some other relationship to him as a composer or lyricist. Some include personal notes or correspondence sent along with the score. Original manuscript scores and compositions written by Schwartz were removed and sent to the Library of Congress where they are maintained in the Elliott Schwartz collection there. A large collection of his works can be found in Bowdoin’s Beckwith Music Library.
