Files in this series were created from 1989 through 1994, and materials include notes, memos, correspondence, reports, newsletters, press clippings, and journal articles. Subjects include family planning, child immunization, fetal tissue research, AIDS, mental health treatments, rural health, teen pregnancy, and organ transplants, among others. These subjects are predominantly public policy- and ethics-oriented. In addition there are many files about the activities and funding of the National Institutes of Health, Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Food and Drug Administration. Many of the reports and correspondence in this series are written by these federal agencies and other public health policy and medical associations. Files were maintained by Christine Williams. Some memos and notes were written by Parashar Patel and Steve Hart. Additional files on AIDS are in the Judiciary Files.
