Files contain reports, memos, correspondence, press clippings, and thank you notes. Records span the years from 1992 through 1994. Subjects include the internal organization and rules of the Senate. Some issues covered in these files are arrangements for foreign travel; letters of recommendation for positions in groups such as the Federal Council on Aging and the National Education Standards and Improvement Council; and requests for an aircraft for the World War II Commemoration Ceremonies. Other files concern the duties of the Secretary of the Senate, job appointments and recommendations, and the enhancement of security in the Congressional Office Buildings and grounds. Significant events covered include the attempted espionage against the Senate by a Czechoslovakian diplomat on May 27, 1989. The administrative assistant who managed these files was Elizabeth Harrington.
