This series dates from 1988 through 1994. Materials include select committee statements, committee reports, memos, press releases, Senate resolutions, schedules, executive orders, and briefing books.

These files primarily concern the Iran-Contra Affairs investigations, including Colonel Oliver North's notebooks, the authorizations of testimony and productions of documents in possession of the Senate Committee, the involvement of Honduras in Iran Contra during 1985-1989, and the Presidential Pardon of 1989. Other issues include Iraq Sanctions, the War Powers Resolution, the South African Law Commission of 1989, the Persian Gulf Crisis of 1991, the Whitewater Affair of 1994, Intelligence Authorization and Budget, China's nuclear test plan of 1993, and the creation of the "Clipper Chip" microcircuit by government engineers.

Significant events covered by this series are the Oliver L. North Subpoena Trial of 1988, the Unification of Germany Treaty of 1989, The executive order blocking Kuwaiti government property of 1990, Iraq's response to the Soviet Peace Proposal and the Iraqi government withdrawal announcement of February 1991, and the October Surprise Investigation of 1991.

Agencies and groups mentioned are the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Central Intelligence Agency, and the National commission to study and report on the survivability of constitutional government under nuclear war or natural calamity.
