This series concerns the federal budget, the national deficit, taxes, the savings and loan crisis, and the effects of these issues on the economy. Specific topics include government spending; healthcare; economic growth proposals; increasing interest rates; energy taxes; timber taxes; luxury tax on boats; the Social Security tax cut of 1991; low-income housing tax credits; campaign finance reform; and the banking failure of 1991.
Groups involved in different aspects of this series are the Resolution Trust Corporation, the National Taxpayers Union Foundation, and the RECOLL Management Corporation.
