Series Description:

Material--mostly photographs--that document Mitchell's early political career before he became a senator in 1980. There is a small amount of correspondence from his time as a lawyer in the anti-trust division of the Justice Department. Also includes family photographs of Mitchell and his family from his childhood and in later years, and material from Mitchell's time as a high school student. In addition, there are books, some signed, on Maine and other topics. Materials that document Mitchell's post-1998 career include recordings, photographs, memorabila, printed materials and clippings that relate to Mitchell's activities, appearances, honors and awards.
